School Learning Council plays an important role at Leagrave Primary School. They give a voice to all pupils. There are 15 children on the committee, one representative from each class from Year 1 to Year 6. Each class has a suggestion box, so all children are encouraged to add any thoughts they have about how to improve our school. Mrs Kandakore, our Home School Liaison Facilitator, meets with all members fortnightly to discuss suggestions, ideas and to support and organise any forthcoming school events or fundraising activities. The School Learning Council meet with Mrs Gillespie, our Headteacher, on a half termly basis to share the suggestions and discuss how they intend to act upon these. In addition, they prepare a report for the Governing Body each half term to update them of their work.
School Councillors are passionate about working as a team and making everyone’s time spent in Leagrave Primary School a positive experience to remember.
