London’s Science Museum welcomed our Year 6 students this week, as we explored their ‘Wonder Lab’ and engaged in amazing interactive workshops. Children thoroughly enjoyed the trip, where they were able to become real-life scientists, engaging with experiments and tasks. Children got the opportunity to practise life skills by solving real life problems. One problem required children to electronically build their own train track to transport passengers. The Wonder Lab allowed children to experiment and explore scientific facts in different ways. The children tested friction and decided which material was best for a slide. One pupil told us that they never knew museums could be so much fun! We learnt lots about working scientifically and can’t wait to apply this to our own Science lessons at school.
