During October, each class took part in activities to find out about the lives of significant people, past and present, in order to celebrate Black History Month. These included people from the world of sport, music and entertainment, as well as people representing the Civil Rights movement such as Dr Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. Children were introduced to their person during an assembly, and then reported back what they had found out a couple of weeks later. Children presented factfiles, songs, art work and newspaper reports as a way of sharing their learning. They were really interested in what each of the other classes had learned, and produced work of a very high standard.
