Our school is passionate about helping those in need and believe that everyone has a right to a good education. We have developed close links with a school in Belize, who have very few resources to support their curriculum, and we want to do our best to help them.
At the end of the summer term, our School Learning Council visited other primary schools in the west of Luton to collect donations of books and other stationary items to support this worthwhile cause. We were blown away with the support and are pleased to say that we collected over 3000 books amongst other useful classroom items.
The Flitwick Rotary Club, who liaise with Fyffes bananas, organised shipment to Belize and the resources are on route as we speak. Meanwhile, we have received a few ‘work in progress’ photos from the school showing their preparations for the new academic year. With all of the donated resources, they plan to create a wonderful learning environment with a colourful reading room. A huge thank you to all the schools for their donations. Check back here for further updates throughout the year.
