At Leagrave Primary School, we aim to provide rich and valuable learning opportunities within our PSHE programme. We believe that children and young people should acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives, now and in the future.
The PSHE Programme of study links closely with our Values Based Education which contributes to developing self-understanding, empathy and the ability to work with others will help young people to enjoy healthy and productive relationships in all aspects of their lives. It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
During your child’s time at Leagrave, they will learn about bullying, citizenship, drug education, healthy eating, physical activity, mental and emotional health, wellbeing, and sex and relationships. Learning opportunities take place in specific lessons as well as in assemblies, tutorial programmes, circle time, special school projects and other activities that enrich pupils’ experiences.
