If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
This week, the whole school has been discussing just that question, studying the Geography curriculum in depth and finding out about their local area as well as locations all over the world. Children have been map making, undertaking fieldwork, carrying out surveys, making music, and investigating how Luton is different to, and the same as, many other places. A visitor from Luton Town Community Outreach visited Year One to talk about how Luton has changed, whilst in Year Four, the children developed a taste for some rather strong French cheese! Early Years classes walked around the school and local area to find out about the different features, whilst Year Three compared Luton with the village of Toddington. Years Two and Six have both looked in greater details at the communities which Leagrave supports in its charity work, namely Congo and Belize, whilst Year Five looked at the effects of climate change around the world, with a focus on Bangladesh.
It has been a most enjoyable week, and we have all learned lots. Thank you so much to all of the parents who were able to join us to share our learning, your support is always so valuable to the children and so much appreciated.
