On Thursday, Year 6 will be acting as hosts for the annual Service of Remembrance. This year, for the first time, the whole school have participated in a week long event entitled ‘We Will Remember’, which saw each year group researching a theme and producing art and literacy on that subject, which was then displayed for parents at our exhibition. The work was of a very high standard, and children have all said how much they enjoyed the week. More photos will follow after the Remembrance Service.
“On Thursday, the whole school had a Remembrance Day Assembly and Year 6 performed a play. Those who came included the Colour Party, our Choir, parents and a trumpeter.
We all sang the first verse of the National Anthem, followed by a two minute silence. I felt very sad because it was all about those soldiers who fought and fell for us.
It was a memorable week for all of us.”
“The Remembrance Event was phenomenal! It was very emotional seeing many ex-servicemen such as the standard bearers, standing proud. This was a week we will never forget.”
